Additional Predictions

The world will see a great shift as to who is in control and the manner in which they are capable of sustaining control.  The Middle East has held the World Powers hostage through the keys to the oil kingdom. The stranglehold will gradually loosen as diverse methods of energy are explored with avid determination. It will not occur all at once but the shift will be evident. The constant turmoil in the Middle East will take a backseat to a desire to reinvent the economy. That will occur due to  an increasing emphasis on creating fuel not dependent on the Middle East. Eventually everything will require conversion, whether it has to deal with cars, aircraft, heating, machinery-and that will invent new jobs. During the interim, the United States will utilize their own natural resources.

Pandemonium will occur in California due to an economy that is rapidly sinking into oblivion. The illegal sector which thrives on black marketing will have a greater power in Los Angeles and other Metropolitan areas of California. The plunge will be further exacerbated by the ill fated movie industry strikes. Los Angeles has become  more dependent upon the movie industry and television production after the aerospace industry began to fade. The television and movie dollars kept many businesses in Los Angeles floating. Alan Rosenburg will chase production into Southern States which are “Right to Work” and the SAG will not have any leverage. Where there is no work and hungry people, crime increases. The greatest problems will be that many of the perpetrators will be the illegal immigrants from countries at war, who are currently experts in survival and the ones who wouldn’t ordinarily be experts will take lessons from people like Jerry Bruckheimer.
The challenges will out weigh the solutions on many levels.  California’s Governor Schwarzeneger  will be put to the test as the crime increases in the high income areas.

The year will witness a religious revival. People will be more attracted to ritualized worship and  (believe it or not) movies or shows with morality. Love stories and entertainment which infuses values into the plot will make a come back. Concurrently in the entertainment industry, new camera equipment will be developed which is smaller and easier to manipulate which will eliminate positions such as the steady cam operator and the gaffers involved with tracks and lighting. An increase in AFTRA programming with 3-5 camera shoots will further weaken SAG and increase the power of The Producers in the event of strikes. More people scrambling for work wears away the fiber producing bargaining power. This year will be the curtain for many survivor and  reality shows. The audience who is taking on boarders will not want to watch quasi -celebrities flaunt their wealth.

Agriculture will take on inventive measures to imitate nature in limited spaces. Vegetables and fruits will be harvested in confined areas in such great volume that there will be an abundance and there will be no rationale for hunger. The lack which will occur due to the extreme weather conditions, will be off set by new age agriculture. Again a market place is born out of necessity, the mother of invention. There is the capability now, however, the laws of  supply and demand dictate production profits to the disadvantage of the hungry.

Californians will have an opportunity to participate in the New Age Farming. That would be the harbinger of California Reinvention. First it was gold, then silver, then aerospace, movie industry, and agriculture- then it all faded. Agriculture will be a part of the comeback… Again new techniques for storage, shipping, and handling will have to be invented.  There will be new roads engraved on the map, and a new direction born.

Political Forecast

The year of 2009 will witness a swing in world power.
The Koreans will demonstrate to the world they are power to be reckoned with and will become one of the major countries to watch.  They will not bend to the demands of the United States with regards to their position on Nuclear Power. They will become stronger in the automobile industry, as will Germany and Japan.  It will be evident the bail out for the American Automobile industry is a little too late.  Dubai will create world wide interest as the new frontier. They will have the wealth and strength Iraq and Iran once experienced through their keys to the Oil Kingdom. Germany will be the forerunner of world wide distribution of a vehicle not dependent upon oil. As the oil dependence on the Middle East begins to shift, so shall the world  interest and involvement  in their domestic issues and wars. These are the beginnings  of the world wide trends. There will be severe flooding from the Yangtze River.

The liberals in the United States will become disenchanted with Obama. He will be incapable of producing the results he promised. He will prove to be an embarassment to the Powers that be and his decision making process will come into question.  The Oprah money will not produce the desired results. There will be an obvious parting of the ways-Obama's camp will attempt to detach. Obama will display a temperment issue which will cause him problems.  Obama will not be as loyal to Israel as other administrations and then the support will shift from the press. Caroline Kennedy will be asked specific questions about Obama at the end of 2009 and the beginning of 2010-it will prove to be an embarassing and awkward moment. Towards the end of 2009 Obama will be a liability to the Democrats and Caroline will teter, but will recognize that no comment is better than losing votes.

McCain will attempt to rebuild his political impetus, but his momentum will dissipate.  Palin will surprise both parties by her steady pace in Alaska and constant presence in the press, but will reign as Queen of the Tupperware set.  No matter the natter, she remains constant and steadfast. Huckabee will pull up from the rear and have a more viable presence.
